Resale boutiques, consignment shops, thrift stores, there are so many ways to buy quality clothing at an affordable price.  I really didn't shop resale, I just donated my clothes at a drop off site.  I explored the resale stores a little more when I had a couple of formal gowns that I hadn't worn in a long time.  I was able to sell my dresses to the store and get cash.  I browsed other merchandise in the store and found some really nice pieces.  You definitely have to be in a mindset to shop, it's kind of like a treasure hunt.  You will come across some items that should never be worn by anyone, but nestled in between those items are gorgeous gems.  I have only brushed the surface in exploring these shops.  

 

My sister has become quite the expert in finding unique quality clothing and accessories.  She said the key to her success is getting to know the employees at the shops.  The employees see first hand the items that come into the store.  They know when additional discounts are taken, and when new merchandise is put out on the floor.  She also outlined additional tips below:

 

1. Have a general knowledge of how much items retail for in regular stores

2. Know the return policy

3. Examine each item carefully, the fabric and construction

4. Check out customer reviews of the store online
