Hi my name is Fathia Savory. My husband, Omar, and I  have been married for five years. We are parents to our inquisitive, energetic, french fries loving son Oliver.

 

We experienced our first pregnancy loss in November 2016 and then again in August 2017. The two losses have been devastating. The first miscarriage was a total shock. It wasn't even really on my radar, especially since we had a successful birth with Oliver. The  loss was even more tough with two hospital stays. After some physical and emotional healing, we began trying again. It didn't happen right away but we found out we were pregnant again. I believe I took like four pregnancy tests to make sure it wasn't a mistake. I still wasn't completely sold until we went to the doctor and heard the baby's heartbeat.  A few days later I had complications. Everything happened so fast, I was pregnant then I was back at the hospital having another miscarriage. I felt empty and confused leaving the hospital.

 

Literally the next day, I shared my story to raise funds to complete a passion project. I created a candle to help bring awareness and support to pregnancy and infant loss. My husband and I promised each other, and God that they would not lose faith or hope. One of my favorite scriptures is: 

 

Romans 15:13 

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."

 

I hopes by sharing my story, it will help others on their healing journey.

 

A portion of proceeds will provide care packages and monetary donations to The Cade Foundation Center for Infant and Child Loss, and doctor's offices.
