For the past few years, I’ve started the year off with a word as my general theme for the new year. This year, my word is sufficient. While reading a devotion, the word stood out to me. Sufficient means enough; adequate.
God’s word is sufficient. It has everything I need to draw close to Him and live out my life according to His purpose. We often look to other people and things, constantly searching and never satisfied, but His provision is always enough.
2 Corinthians 3:5-6
Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God, who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
Do you have a word for the year? I would love to hear from you.
