Psalm 37

3 Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. 4 Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

5 Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: 6 He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun.

On December 13, 2013, I launched my business Fathia Savory. I wanted to start this business years ago, but allowed everything to get in the way. I struggled with the idea of the fashion industry being a field that I could serve and please God. I believe that my faith isn't just for church but is something that should reflect in every aspect of my life. People would talk so negatively about loving fashion... "fashion is so materialistic". These thoughts echoed in my head, and I began to give up on my passion and dream.

I prayed to God and shared my stuggles with friends and a mentor. God began to reveal scripture (Proverbs 31) about my gifts and entreprenuership. He placed me in a position in which I shared my love for fashion with women at church events. I established relationships with teens through our talks about the latest fashion trends. God began to really open doors, and I had a loving husband who prayed and supported me.

As my business formed. I knew that I would operate with Christian principles, but I wanted to make it known publicly. Sharing your faith through your business can get sketchy, especially in a world where they want to take Christ out of everything. I prayed and sought wisdom about the best way to share my faith. Sometimes, we think too much about how we are going to offend people, and not enough about honoring God. I have since been including scripture on my website and facebook, as well as inviting people to know Christ, and join a church family. And more recently, God has put on my heart to include this blog on my website.

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13 This verse is in the signature of all my emails. I have it set up as an email and text reminder daily. I had to recite this verse to myself this morning. I was allowing my emotions and situation to make me feel hopeless. This verse is a constant reminder that God is the author of hope. Hope is eternal life through Jesus Christ. We do not have to wait for this truth, we have eternal life right now, if we believe. Hope is, the battle is already won for us! Hope is, God has a plan and purpose for my life! My faith and growing relationship with God allows me to experience joy and peace. I would not be able to experience all that he has for me outside of a relationship with him. Trust comes through relationship. I could not image dealing with the struggles of this morning, and day-to-day struggles without God. All my problems aren't always resolved right away (or even how I thought), but I am learning how to be content in His promises and will for my life! If I rely on my own emotional feelings for the source of my hope, I would be all over the place. My God gives me hope… it overflows by the power of the Holy Spirit! You can have the same hope today!
