Well, this is my first time writing a post in 2015. But hey, I like to think I have a good excuse. An excuse that I could use maybe for the next 18+ years. My husband and I are proud new parents.

Being a mother has given me a new prespective on God's wonder and love. I look at our baby everyday in awe, this little being started from nothing and grew inside me for nine months. God is so amazing in His creation. The scripture below seems that much more real. We are so blessed and thankful!

Psalm 139

13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

I missed service on Sunday and I read so many posts about it on Facebook. Praise God for technology, we stream and upload messages at www.messiahcconline.org

The message I attached is so timely and relevant. As a christian, the pressures to be of this world pound down on me daily. I constantly have to renew my mind, and embrace the life I was called to live.

1 Peter 2:9-12New International Version (NIV)

9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

Living Godly Lives in a Pagan Society

11 Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul. 12 Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.

As a young girl, I remember counting down to Christmas with an advent calendar. I shared this memory with my husband, and he went out a purchased this calendar for our family to continue the tradition. Along with the countdown, we are reading a daily advent devotional by John Piper. The devotion has been an awesome reminder of the true meaning of the Christmas season. It's very easy to get caught up in shopping, decorating, entertaining, and not truly acknowledging and celebrating Christ. What are you doing to truly celebrate Christ this season?
